Counselling Services

At Little Lights, we provide one-on-one counselling in a safe, supportive, and confidential space where children and young people can explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours.

Through individual counselling, we help children and adolescents:

  • Process difficult emotions and experiences

  • Develop healthy coping strategies

  • Build self-awareness and resilience

  • Improve relationships and social skills

  • Set personal goals and work toward positive change

We specialise in supporting young people facing challenges such as:

  • Anxiety & stress

  • Low mood

  • Emotion regulation difficulties

  • Trauma & adverse experiences

  • Family changes (divorce, separation, loss)

  • Self-esteem & confidence building

  • School & peer challenges

Our approach is child centred, evidence-based, and tailored to each young person's needs, empowering them to navigate life's challenges with confidence and strength.

For children and pre-teens (5-12 years) the initial consultation is a parent-only session. For teen we encourage involvement in the intake process, but will work with parents on a case-by-case basis.

NDIS Supports

At Little Lights, we provide NDIS-funded counseling and support for children and adolescents, offering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing space to help young people build resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being.

We are able to support NDIS participants who have funding for therapeutic supports and work closely with children, families, and support networks to create individualised, strengths-based plans that align with their goals.

Way We Support NDIS Participants:

  • Emotional regulation & coping strategies

  • Developing emotional expression skills

  • Building self-esteem & confidence

  • Supporting transitions & life changes

  • Building social skills (e.g. interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, building friendships)

  • Supporting safety and life skills (e.g. online safety)

We have experience working with children and young people with disabilities, neurodiverse individuals and complex needs, ensuring they receive compassionate, tailored support.

At Little Lights, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. Our goal is to empower young people with the skills, strategies, and confidence to navigate life’s challenges while supporting families in their journey.

For all NDIS participants, an initial consultation will include discussions of your NDIS goals, as per the plan to ensure we stay on track in meeting those goals.
